Our story
A short walk through the milestones that shaped how Mosey banks today — from a single branch in Leeds to two million customers across the UK.
1998
Founded in Leeds
Mosey Bank opens its first branch on Albion Street with 12 staff and a single goal: clearer banking, fewer surprises.
2003
Expansion across the North
Branch number ten opens in Newcastle. Mosey now serves 80,000 personal customers across Yorkshire and the North East.
2008
Online banking launches
Mosey customers can now manage their account, set up standing orders, and pay bills entirely online — well ahead of the high-street competition.
2014
The Mosey app arrives
Mobile-first banking, instant push notifications on every transaction, and Apple Pay support from day one. The app hits 4.8 stars within its first month.
2019
One million customers
Mosey crosses the one million customer mark — and we're still answering the phone in under 30 seconds on average.
2021
Business banking launches
We bring the same simplicity to SMEs: a 15-minute opening flow, accounting integrations from launch day, and no monthly fee in year one.
2024
Real-rate FX, zero fees
We rebuild the FX engine: real mid-market exchange rates and no foreign transaction fees on the current account. The change saves UK travellers an estimated £14M a year.
Today
Two million customers, one focus
140+ branches, two million customers, and a single principle that hasn't changed since 1998: tell people what their money is doing.
